How We Can Help
“Each person is different what works for one may not work for another. We teach until our students feel the right answers,” explained Linda Gross, Ed.M. Often, people who do not learn to read easily are labeled “disabled,” “lazy,” or “not ready.” This can spell disaster both academically and emotionally.
We tap into each person’s individual learning style to teach him to read, comprehend and focus. Some of the different programs our group of highly trained tutors use and combine are: Alphabetic Phonics, Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, Spalding, Lindamood-Bell, Project Read, Landmark Writing and One Brain. We also provide instruction in vocabulary development, comprehension strategy, study skills and elementary math.
Linda Gross, Ed.M. first conducts an informal, individual diagnostic teaching session to determine the best approach and the most appropriate tutor for each person. Tutors in the practice are highly educated and trained, among them certified reading specialists with master’s degrees, multisensory structure language educators (MSLE) and those skilled in using specific reading and language programs.
Children learn a new approach to interpret language “that works and is easy.” Adults unlearn and break old ineffectual habits as they substitute different and successful techniques that are complementary to their learning styles.
The result: Our students succeed!
